Available for Adoption: J. R. J. R. has a mentor! Thank you Ashley&Dennis Sanderson! Male 2 1/2 Years Lab Mix Pet ID Number: C21584 How to adopt All pets over 12 weeks are spayed or neutered. We give a free spay/neuter certificate to those adopting kittens or puppies. |
J.R. was adopted as a young puppy. Initially he took good care of J.R., crate training and working with this little guy. For some reason he then began leaving him longer and longer in the "pen" in the backyard with another male dog. Eventually, J.R. became a "Pen" dog. Spending his days arguing with his roommate and looking forward to the occasional visits from his beloved owner. Thank goodness J.R.'s adopter finally woke up and saw the light and returned J.R. to us. He was raised in a backyard with no socialization or attention, now he is just miserable and scared, and is waiting for his pitiful master to return, not knowing that won't be happening.
He needs a kind, patient person to give him a chance, a new home - a forever, good home this time. He would probably be best in a quiet home without young children so he can settle in and learn to trust again. J.R. has a mentor who is working with him everyday. He is slowly comming out of his shell and realizing that this world is really a wonderful place! Update: J. R. is now in a foster home. Following is new informtion from them: "We decided to foster him after he spent Memorial Day weekend at our home which was only supposed to be for the weekend. He was so well behaved and got along so well with our other animals we felt we could handle fostering him. He is potty trained. He gets along with our other dogs (one male and one female). Initially he was curious about our two cats, but that was easily corrected. He now seems to understand that he is not to bother them. He has been sleeping on a dog bed at night next to our bed. He is making progress in trusting other humans. He allowed a friend of mine to pet him the other day which was promising. He knows the "sit" command very well and I am going to begin working with him on other basic commands. He listens really well so I'm hoping he will make good progress. Also, he is FINALLY allowing us to brush him." For more information, please call Edy at 312-8145. |
