ENSURE OUR FUTURE

Give to Our Shelter Build and help ensure a strong, compassionate future for Pets & People Humane Society. Your support today lays the foundation for a safe, innovative, and hope-filled shelter that will serve pets and families for years to come.

When you give today, you’re helping us:

  • Break ground on a modern shelter built for comfort, safety, and emotional well-being.

  • Expand our lifesaving capacity so every pet gets the second chance they deserve.

  • Build a community-centered space that supports families, pets, and compassionate care for decades to come.

Your generosity lays the foundation—literally—of a brighter future. Thank you for helping us reach $200,000 and making this dream possible.

GIFTS OF STOCK

Pets & People is able to accept stock donations through Edward Jones and Fidelity.

Why stock gifts matter:

  • You may avoid capital gains tax on appreciated securities.

  • You may receive a full fair-market value deduction.

  • Your donation immediately strengthens our mission.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)

If you are 70½ or older, you can make tax-free donations directly from your IRA to Pets & People.

Benefits of an IRA QCD:

  • Counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)

  • Reduces taxable income

  • Creates an immediate and powerful impact for animals in need

Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)

A Donor-Advised Fund is a simple, flexible, and tax-efficient way to support your favorite causes—including Pets & People.

How DAFs Work

  • A DAF is a charitable giving account opened at a 501(c)(3) public charity (the “sponsoring organization”).

  • Donors contribute to their DAF whenever it works for them—monthly, annually, or in larger gifts.

  • Contributions are tax-deductible immediately.

  • From there, donors can recommend grants to Pets & People whenever the timing is right.

Why Donors Love DAFs

  • Give when you're able.

  • Grant when it’s needed most.

  • Businesses commonly use DAFs, but individuals and families can also create one.

  • Those establishing or updating a will or estate plan can include Pets & People in their DAF instructions.

Please consider making a donation or becoming a sponsor so we can continue to help many more animals in need!
